Description

Premium stallion at the DSP Stallion Days from GCT winner Uricas van de Kattevennen

“Very likeable, charming horse, with a modern type and masculine appearance. Really great stallion with a lot of overview, who intelligently solved his task in the jumping series. He can go forward, he can go high, he can go far. And he has excellent leg technique, especially at the front. He showed us great, great jumping. A very modern athlete with a future in breeding and sport,” commented Andy Witzemann on behalf of the licensing committee on the acclaimed appearance of our award-winning Uricon at the DSP Stallion Days in Munich.

The father Uricas van de Kattevennen (Holsteiner line 1916; the grandmother Chika’s Way first collected international show course successes under Janne-Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann and later under Katrin Eckermann; the approved stallions Arturo, Clearway, Conway I and II and. also come from the great-grandmother Wodka the 1.60 meter show jumping mare Carassina/Thomas Kleis, who became the mother of the stallions Million’s Way and United Way) won the Global Champions Tour (GCT) stage of Riesenbeck in 2023 under his rider Harrie Smolders/NED, after already winning the Grand Prix St. Gallen/SUI couldn’t be beat. The pair also achieved second place in Paris/FRA, third place in the Global Champions League final in Prague/CZE and further top placings in the Nations Cup in Rome/ITA, in Basel/SUI and the Grand Prix in Rotterdam/NED. Uricas vd Kattevennen started his international career in 2019 under Alexander Housen/BEL with fifth place in the final of the World Jumping Horse Championships for seven-year-olds in Lanaken/BEL. He then moved under the saddle of Harrie Smolders and was part of the seventh-placed Dutch team at the European Championships in Milano/ITA in 2023. Five of his sons were licensed, including the first reserve champions of the Holstein and OS licensing, Uluru and United Hearts. His daughter Uri vd Kattevennen Z won a series of races under Wim Vinckx/BEL in the International Youngster Tour.

The mother Chatendra is sister to the licensed Numero Unico (by Numero Uno), who was victorious in 1.30 meter jumping, the two Cadoro and Chuck Chai (both by Cador), who were placed in 1.50 meter jumping, and up to 1, 35 meter course successful The Queen (by Ustinov), Chiradelli (by Carrera VDL) and Chimanski (by Chaman).

The dam’s father Chaman, himself a son of the Olympic champion and three-time World Cup winner Baloubet du Rouet/Rodrigo Pessoa/BRA, led the ranking of the world’s most successful jumping stallions under Ludger Beerbaum. The pair won the Grand Prix in Stuttgart, Paris/FRA, Zurich/SUI, Lausanne/SUI, Rio/BRA, Hanover and Münster and took second place in the World Cup final in Lyon/FRA in 2014. The winnings registered in Germany alone amount to over 535,000 euros. Only used late in breeding, Chaman produced five approved sons, including the internationally successful Kaiden GPH/Evan Coluccio/USA and Khatou-S/Jesse Luther. The first offspring can boast successes up to 1.60 meter courses, such as the Global Champions Tour winner Cepano Baloubet/Richard Vogel.

The granddam Countesse is sister to five show jumpers, of which Nonplusultra (by Nagano; 1.45 m jumping) and Valegro (by Van Gogh; 1.35 m jumping) are internationally successful.
