Springfield VDL

Description

As a grandson of the top mare Cella, powerhouse Springfield has a major future ahead of him. At the end of 2025, he successfully completed the KWPN performance test. His granddam won team gold and individual silver under Ben Maher at the EC in Herning and claimed several Grand Prix victories. Springfield’s pedigree is packed with performance genetics. His sire is the successful stallion Balou du Reventon, with whom Brian Moggre competed at the WEG in Herning. Earlier, this stallion won multiple Grand Prix classes with Darragh Kenny and took part in the EC in Rotterdam. His oldest offspring are already performing at top level, including Cornet’s Cambridge, Crack Balou, and Cornest. Dam Nicella VDL scored 90 points for both reflexes and scope at the studbook inspection. Granddam Cella has so far left her mark through progeny performing at 1.50/1.60m-level, such as Handor van ’t Roosakker, Happy Wandor van ’t Roosakker, and Fabio van ’t Roosakker. In the third generation we find the 1.50m-level mare Usha van ’t Roosakker, who also produced the 1.60m horse and top breeding mare Babbe van ’t Roosakker. In the KWPN performance test, Springfield was praised for his uncomplicated, willing character and his light-footed canter with good balance. He is easy to ride, takes off quickly from the ground, and combines excellent technique with plenty of scope and carefulness.
