Winner of the Sires of the World show jumping competition
Show jumping breeders, watch out! With Drako de Maugre, one of the most spectacular show jumping stallions of the last season, with an excellent and rare outcross pedigree, will stand at stud.
Drako de Maugre, who had already been highly successfully up to 1.55m with Alexandra Francart/FRA, really took off with Patrick Stühlmeyer: victory in the prestigious Sires of the World show jumping competition in Lanaken/BEL and in the Grand Prix of Pinneberg/GER and Opglabbeek/BEL, second place in the Grand Prix of Opglabbeek/BEL, eighth place in Balve/GER and ninth place in the Stuttgart German Masters.
His sire Kannan is one of the most influential show jumping sires ever. For many years, he led the ranking of the best show jumping sires in the world and is currently placed fourth. He was himself highly successful internationally with the French rider Michel Hécart. He represented the French colours at the 2005 European Championships in San Patrignano/ITA. Kannan has produced around 180 licensed stallions and 170 offspring internationally successful in 1.60m show jumping competitions, led by the Olympic Champion Nino des Buissonnets and the World Cup winner Paille de la Roque/both Steve Guerdat/SUI, Molly Malone/Bertram Allen/IRL, Quabri de L’Isle/Pedro Veniss/BRA, Oh D’Eole/a.o. Gregory Wathelet/BEL, James Kann Cruz/Shane Sweetnam/IRL, Nikolaj de Music/Emanuele Gaudiano/ITA and Mom’s Toupie de la Roque/Pieter Devos/BEL.
His dam Atlanta de Maugre was placed in international 1.45m show jumping competitions with Ludovic Gaudin/FRA.
His dam’s sire is the Anglo-Arab Fusain du Defey AA, who was finalist at the World Championships for young show jumping horses (7y.o.) in Lanaken/BEL and who was placed in the famous Sires of the World show jumping competition. He won the Grand Prix of Blaye/FRA, Marmande/FRA and Castres/FRA and also came second in the 1.55m Grand Prix of Yvre L’Eveque/FRA and Le Mans/FRA. Many of his offspring caused great excitement in show jumping and eventing, such as the 1.60m show jumping horse Quelstar du Vic BILH/Alexandra Francart/FRA and the CCI3* star Pepsy du Thil/Nicolas Touzaint/FRA.
His Belgian grand-dam Appia du Seigneur was placed internationally with Clement Bohren/FRA and was also successful in puissance competitions. Her daughter Finesse de Maugre (by Comme il faut) won international Youngster Tour competitions in 2022 with Benoit Cernin/FRA. Her daughter Destinee de Maugre (by Ugano Sitte) produced the international show jumping horse Contesse de Maugre (by Dollar Dela Pierre).
The fantastic stallions Ogano Sitte/a.o. Philippe Lejeune/BEL and Rubens Du Ri d’Asse/Hansüli Sprunger/SUI appear in the further generations.
His great-grand-dam Rosee du Seigneur produced Appia du Seigneur’s full brother and sister, the 1.50m show jumping horses Uganito du Seigneur/Orlando Izzo/ITA and Victoria du Seigneur/Marcello Manganotti/ITA. The former was licensed and the latter produced the licensed stallion Curby du Seigneur (by Doree van den Moskifarm)/a.o. Jérome Guery/BEL.
His great-grand-dam also produced three other international show jumping horses.
His fourth dam produced the 1.60m show jumping horse Querelle du Seigneur (by Ksar-Sitte).
The stallions Vulcain du Saint-Homme (by Ogano Sitte), Hollywood du Houssoit (by Dayton Sitte), Lingot d’or de la Petite Hunelle (by Greco Sitte) and numerous international show jumping horses also descend from this dam line.
