Description
This exceptional three-year-old talent was selected for the KWPN Stallion Show performance test and awarded premium stallion. He proved to be one of the most complete stallions of his generation, thanks to his athletic conformation, convincing free jumping performances, and strong pedigree.
As a son of the genetically valuable stallion Chatinue and the highly successful mare Sixtine de Vains (sport name Sarena), who competed under Ben Maher and Pius Schwizer, Celtic VDL combines two accomplished Grand Prix showjumpers in his pedigree. His dam Sarena won the 5* Grand Prix of Wellington and had already produced the international 1.45m-level showjumper Byzance de Vains (s.Ogano Sitte) for François Xavier Boudant before her sporting career. After competing at the highest level, Sarena returned to breeding, where she produced offspring like the promising Zangersheide-approved stallion Pardino VDL (s.Zirocco Blue VDL), who was selected by KWPN and has already impressed in the stallion competition under Cristel Kalf. Granddam Isoline III not only produced Sarena but also the international 1.55m-level showjumper Perle de Vains (s.Robin II Z) of Jordan Schoch and originates from a solid French performance lineage.
Premium stallion Celtic VDL is from the first crop of the Grand Prix stallion Chatinue, who competed at the highest level under Darragh Kenny and Luis Alejandro Plascencia. Chatinue is a half-brother to the Grand Prix stallion Balou du Reventon, who took part in the WEG of Herning with Brian Moggre, as well as to the sire Balou du Rouet. This makes the promising Celtic VDL a remarkable fusion of leading German and French bloodlines.
